The Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud Center for American Studies and Research (CASAR) and the Department of Fine Arts and Art History (FAAH) held a lecture entitled "American Indian Music: Musical Differences among Regional Cultural Areas within North America" by Dr. Wendy La Touche. Dr. Wendy La Touche has been teaching bassoon at the University of Wyoming in Laramie since 2006. She has previously taught World Music and American Music in the Department of Ethnomusicology at Fresno State University, California, as well as American Indian Music at the University of Colorado at Boulder. She received her Doctorate of Musical Arts degree, with an emphasis on American Indian Music, from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Dr. La Touche is an active orchestral performer. Over the past five years, she has played with the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra, Fresno Philharmonic Orchestra, Reno Chamber Orchestra and Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as at the Colorado Music Festival and the SSMA Music Festival (Siena, Italy).
