In 1915, a group of visionary women came together in The Hague, the Netherlands, to stop World War I. In doing so they founded the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF). The WILPF Academic Network presents the Women's Power to Stop War Webinar Series to herald WILPF's 100th Anniversary in 2015. The first Webinar in this series introduces the Women, Peace and Security Agenda. Cynthia Enloe will bring a feminist perspective and discuss its relevance to anti-militaristic politics of 1915 to 2015. She will then look to the future of peacemaking and women's crucial role in it. Cynthia Enloe is a Research Professor at Clark University and an engaged WILPF member. Cynthia is a pioneer in the field of feminist international relations. Her work illuminates the exploitation of femininities and masculinities in political, globalisation and militarisation processes.
