Continuing the story, Woody Guthrie is working in his brother's country band whilst writing for a communist newspaper. Leadbelly teams up with Alan Lomax and starts to make recordings. Josh White rejects the folksy image of Leadbelly and becomes friends with Roosevelt. Pete Seeger preaches the communist manifesto to traditional folk and gospel tunes. They all move to New York, where the Almanacs are formed. They become compromised with the advent of WWII, as they oppose the war and support the Soviet/German pact.
