Allen Grossman and Eugene Goodheart -- esteemed Boston area Jewish intellectuals -- display an impressive depth and breadth of knowledge in international literature and theory. Both treat Biblical and Classical literature with seriousness, while engaging with their contemporaries, e.g., Derrida, Foucault, and Harold Bloom. Grossman's approach combines structuralism, phenomenology, archetypal, and ethical approaches; Goodheart works with liberal humanistic, ethical, historical, and political approaches.
